Obituary
Mrs. Betty Maxine Ballard was born on Friday, December 9, 1927, daughter of the late William Everett and Eva Lena Turrentine Vaden. Mrs. Ballard died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Trumann Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 80. She was born and a lifetime resident of Trumann, a retired beautician and former employee of the Singer Company and a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Trumann. Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ballard, one son, Rickie Gene Ballard; a step-son, Jackie Ballard; one sister, Georgia Goodwin; a half-sister, Viola Howell; four brothers, William Horace, Charles, Riley and Arlen Vaden and her parents, William Everett and Eva Lena Turrentine Vaden. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Clara Sample Ballard of Evening Shade and one brother, Aaron Dean Vaden of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Russell Hamm officiating Private burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
