Obituary
Mr. John Paul Goodman was born on Thursday, February 11, 1943, son of the late Wince and Nancy Evelyn Mavrey Goodman. Mr. Goodman died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 6 days. He was born in Caraway, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a service representative for Depont and a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church Mr. Goodman was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Alan Goodman and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Wright Goodman of the home; one daughter, Karen Brock of Trumann; three sons, Dennis and Linda Goodman, David and Deborah Goodman, and Robert and Cynthia Goodman all of Trumann; one sister, Mildred and Jay Gibson of Abilene, Texas; one brother, Ruben W. and Wave Goodman of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, January 21, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, Ark., with Rev. Gene Hogan and Rev. Leonard Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Greg Anderson, Adam Anderson, Billy McCorkle, Jimmy Kilgore, Johnny Blagg and Chris Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Holt and Allen Hamilton. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
