Mr. Jackie Ray Aker was born on Wednesday, May 1, 1935, son of the late William Clark and Thelma Francis Key Aker. Mr. Aker died Friday, August 31, 2007 at the family residence in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 30 days. He was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a welder helper, veteran of the U.S. Air Force and serving in the Korean War and of the Methodist faith. Mr. Aker was preceded in death by one sister, Billie Ann Haskett and his parents. Survivors include his former wife, Linda Aker of Trumann. Graveside services will be Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark., with Rev. Gerald Vickers officiating. Burial will follow under the directions of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, Ark. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.
