Obituary
Mrs. Floy Maybelle Jones was born on Monday, July 13, 1903, daughter of the late Cortes and Leora Rollins Johnson. Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, Sept. 19th at the family residence in Lake City Ark., at the age of 103. She was born in the Prairie Creek, Ark., and had lived in Lake City for the past 8 years and was formerly of Trumann. She was a homemaker and member of the Alsup Pentocostal Church near Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Jones, one son, Vernon Jones, two daughters, Velta Toddy and Loucretia Fowler, one grandson, Larry Jones, one great-great-grandson, Jarrod McClung and her parents. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Timms of Lake City; a son, Everett Jones of Trumann; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Hosman and Bro. Rick Toddy officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 22nd at 12:00 noon in the Graves Cemetery in Delaware, Ark., with Thompson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will be grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 to 7 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
