Obituary

Mrs. Frances Gates Authur, 85 of Trumann, died Thursday morning at the family residence. Mrs. Arthur was born in Keiser, Ark., and had lived in Trumann for the past 15 years and was formerly of Batesville, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of the Trumann Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Arthur who died in 1999; one son, Larry Brown,; one sister, Evelyn Presley; one brother, Jack Gates and was the daughter of the late Bedford and Sadie Davidson Gates. Mrs. Arthur is survived by one sister, Bonnie Carter of Trumann; four nieces, Karen Gregory, Linda Gregory and Marsha Mars all of Trumann and Gearldine Barnes of Marked Tree; four nephews, George Presley and Joey Carter both of Trumann; Jimmy Presley of Proctor and Chuck Carter of Florida. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Myles Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jimbo Presley, Larry Gregory, Matthew Barnes, William Gregory, David Gregory, Eric Presley, Scott Presley and Michael Gann. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. An online register can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
