Obituary

Mr. Clarence Alvin Brock, 74, of Lincoln Park, Mich., died Friday, April 28th, at the Henry Ford Wyandotte Center in Wyandotte, Mich. He was born in Trumann and had lived in Michigan since 1951. He was a factory worker for General Motors Hydramantic and of the Church of God faith. He was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and his parents, Jessie Lee and Orpha M. Walton Brock. Survivors include his wife, Jeanene Fox Brock of the home; one daughter, Karen Hulse of Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Alvin Brock of Taylor Mich., William Brock of London, Ohio and Glendale Brock of Germany; five stepchildren, Donald Daniels of Johannesburg, Mich., Denise Adams of Taylor Mich., Timothy Daniels of Elmira, Mich., Valerie Bradshaw of Denver, Col., and Glenn Daniels of Lincoln Park, Mich.; 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 3rd at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Trumann with Rev. Larry Tribble officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, Ark. with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.Pallbearers will be William Brock, Glendale Brock, Junior Hill, Alvin Biggers, Allen Biggers and Jousah Owens. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy on Christy Street in Trumann. An online register can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

"Clarence Brock was "Papa Brock" to me...he was a fun-loving sweet, old man and the only grandfather I've ever known. He has been a good husband to my grandmother and a wonderful person to many. He will be greatly missed and I will forever hold the memories (playing poker when grandma was out of the house; watching baseball, wrestling, and westerns together; or just listening to his stories as we played cards) we shared in my heart.

"My Uncle Clarence was a wonderful man who reassured me that even though families may not see each other as often as they would like that if we love one another and respect one another we will be fine and the love that we share will keep us close between visits. Uncle Clarence understood love and what it meant to love. What I will hold so close to my heart now is the smile he gave. I don't know about all of you but when Uncle Clarence would smile he would lite up a room and change the hearts from sadness and pain into faithful and happy. To my family know one thing if you Love God and give him your life, that this meeting that seems so final with Uncle Clarence is not goodbye but just the beginning. His journey is just beginning. Heaven is forever and is filled with happy times and glorious beauty. Grieve some but,know deep down that he is safe now and there is no pain and that we will se him again someday in Heaven.
