Mrs. Velma Mae Valentine Spencer of Arnold, MO departed this life on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 28 days.  Velma was born Friday, September 5, 1930 and grew up in the McCormick Community.  Velma and Bill lived several years in Trumann, AR, then later moved to St. Louis in 1956.  They worked on a lot of life’s projects together.  She loved working in her yard, gardening, and just being outside to watch the wildlife that is always visiting their property.  She was preceded in death by one brother Howard Douglas Valentine, an infant twin brother and her parents, Jim and Nellie Valentine. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Bill Spencer, one daughter, Connie Spencer, two Sherpei grand dogs, Cooper and Tucker; one brother, Donald Valentine of Jonesboro, AR, and one sister, Joyce Valentine Woodham of Jonesboro, AR. Visitation will be Tuesday, morning at 9:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life follow at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Loggins  officiating.  Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.
