Mr. Robert O. Saunders, Jr. of Jonesboro departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 86 years, 10 months and 22 days.  He was born Tuesday, September 19, 1933 in McCormick, AR and lived in Jonesboro and was formerly of Trumann and Lepanto area.  He was a retired manger with Barton’s and of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his wife,  Juanita Saunders; three brothers, Raymond Saunders, Michael Saunders and Earnest Saunders; and his parents, Robert O. and Helen Smith Saunders, Sr.       He is survived by one son, Hal Saunders of Jonesboro, AR; one daughter, Nita Baker of Marion, AR two sisters, Jeanine Saunders of Jonesboro, AR and Marolyn Speer of Stuttgart, AR; 4 grandchildren, Tyler Baker, Matthew Baker, Kelsey Baker and Deidre Godfrey; 1 great-grandchild, Rowen Godfrey.       Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  Graveside service will be Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Eric Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.  In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be required along with face masks.         Honorary pallbearers will be Bill McKisson, Jeff Jones, Rusty Jones, Gary Beard, Jim Jones, Charles Saunders, Eric Saunders, Sean Saunders, Michael Jones, Greg Jones and Mark Beard.      Lasting memorials can be sent to St. Bernards Senior Life Center Meals on Wheels, 700 E.
