Obituary
Tyrone Lee “Ty” Koons of Lake City passed away Saturday evening November 14, 2020 of natural causes at the age of 45 years, 6 months and 26 days. He was born Saturday, April 19, 1975 inJonesboro and had lived in the area his lifetime. He was a former juvenile administrator for Craighead County Jail. Politics was one of his favorite things, especially Ronald Reagan and President Trump. John Wayne was his favorite actor and his sports teams were the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. He was the former minister at Egypt Church of Christ and was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Koons, nephew Hunter “Earl” Keiter and mother-in-law, Patricia Lowery.
Ty is survived by his wife, Takecha Lowery Koons and mother, Violet Schultz Koons both of the home; two brothers, Ronnie (Hanna) Koons of Jonesboro and Kevin (Amy) Keiter of Monette; father-in-law, Alvis Lowery of Harrisburg; brother-in-law, Eric (Angela) Lowery of Harrisburg; nieces, Kaesha (Shane) Koons, Summer (Chase) Peck and Alison Koons; Nephews, Jackson (Hannah) Lowery, Connor Lowery, Drake Mullen, Carson Koons, and Evan Koons.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Nettleton Church of Christ in Jonesboro with Joe Spangler and Brock Kendall officiating. Due to Ty’s dedication to politics, family has requested service attendees wear red, white, and blue attire or their Ty strong T-shirts. Burial will be private.
Lasting memorials are asked to consider the Children’s Home in Paragould or St. Jude’s Children Hospital
