Obituary

Annie Vernice Short of Trumann departed this life on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 90 years, 6 Months and 10 days.  She was born Sunday, September 28, 1930 in Tupelo, MS to the late Austin and Evie Owens and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann.  Mrs. Short was a member of the Revival Center Church for 10 years and the Church of The Lord Jesus Christ Church in Trumann for 33 years before going to the Revival Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Short, one son, Terry Short; grandson, Todd Short; two sisters, Joyce Frazier, and Genelle Brummett; one brother, Travis Owens and her parents..       She is survived by one son, Ricky Short of Trumann; two daughters, Barbara Short, and Mary (Bob) Reedy of Trumann; 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.        Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life will be Friday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with  Rev. Buddy Moore officiating and eulogy by granddaughter, Terra Lee.  Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro.       Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.         In compliance with Covid-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is required, and  social distancing will be observed along with the signing of a COVID-19 form.      Online guest book can be signed at www. thompsonfuneralhome.net
