"No one knew the twists and turns of St. Francis River like Gilbert. He was first-class duck hunter and fisherman and rarely did you see him when he didn't have a mess of crappie in his cooler. He was a true riverman of the likes we may never see again. Rest well and God bless.
Justin Majors, Maumelle, ARJune 28, 2022
"My condolences go out to the family.
Most of you don’t know me but we were fishing buddies from the river. He was one of the best fisherman I have had the pleasure of knowing. It is with a heavy heart I write this, as he was a great friend to have. When we first met at my daughters wedding , she married Josh Callahan, we became instant friends. We haven’t seen each other in almost 8 years but we talked regularly about our passion, the river. Please know he will never be forgotten and sorely missed.
