Obituary
Barbara Sue Long Vinson departed this life September 30, 2022 at NEA Baptist Hospital at the age of 75 years and 9 months. She was born December 30, 1946 in Trumann, Arkansas and was the daughter of Talmadge Long SR and Viva Long. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Jerald Lynn Vinson; her parents and brother Terry Joe Long.
As a seventeen year old bride she followed her husband through the Airforce, first to Denver, Colorado, then to Paris, France, then back to Trumann where she lived, raised a family, and went to church. She was a hair stylist for 29 years. She loved swimming, boating, fishing, Elvis music, and all kinds of gospel music. “We will miss her sweet smile and all of her good humor. Most of all I will miss her friendship for she was my best friend and the wife that saw after her children and me, her husband. May you rest now, love of my life.”
She leaves behind her husband Jerry Vinson after 58 years, 4 and a half months of marriage; one daughter, Coleen Lamb of Jonesboro; one brother, Talmadge Long, Jr. of Pocahontas, AR; one granddaughter, Meghan Kenley of Trumann; one grandson McKay Qualls of Jonesboro; and two great granddaughters, Emmie and Maggie Kenley of Trumann.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 3, 2022 from 1:00 to 200 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Graveside service at 2:30 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas with Bro. Robert F. Davis Jr. officiating.
In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is optional and social distancing will be observed.
