Obituary
Wanda Mae “MeMe” DeFord of Trumann, departed this life at the Flo and Phil Hospice at the age of 91 years, 4 months, and 16 days. She was born August 3, 1931 in Harrisburg, AR to the late W.C and Bernice Avery Benson and lived her lifetime in the Trumann area. She was of the Baptist faith, an avid reader, loved to cook and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Jack DeFord, daughter Sharron Wray, son Paul J. DeFord, sister Juanita Holt, and four brothers Neal, Leon, Junior, and Bobby Benson.
She is survived by her son Greg (Patty) DeFord of Trumann; one sister Sharlene Flowers of Clarksburg, TN; one brother Gene (Shirley) Benson of Trumann; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jay, Sarabeth, Scott, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, and Kylie; and six great-grandchildren, Merrick, Maddox, Hollyn, Asher, Jaxon, and Tucker; many nieces and nephews and many that she considered as her children.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will follow at 1:30 p.m. with Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial will be private.
