Obituary

James Doyce Moody of Trumann departed this life on Friday, February 10th at St Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 24 days.   He was born Friday, November 17, 1933 in Rogersville, AL and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann.  Doyce was an Army veteran, worked at Singer Company, a retired construction worker and of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Moody, Buford Moody and Kenneth Moody; one granddaughter, Angela Pippinger and his parents, Sam and Beatrice Patrick Moody. He is survived by one daughter, Doris (Gerald) Benson of Harrisburg and her mother Bertie Blasingame; one sister, Mary (Leroy) Stone of Mississippi; one grandson, Jody (Christie) Benson of Pocahontas, one great-grandson, Jay Lee Pippinger; niece, Brenda (Frank) Moody of Jonesboro and several nieces, nephews, step children and step grandchildren; Stella (Robbie) Smith, Brittney (Dalton) Hisaw, Patrick (Kaytie) Johnson, Dakota Smith, Emily Smith, Mallory Smith, Ashley (Eric) Dawson, Finn and Ryan (Poppa’s Boys), Sarah Collins (granddaughter) and Kevin Martin. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro.       In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering and social distancing is optional.
