Joy Diann Elrod of Cherokee Village departed this life Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Ash Flat at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 30 days.  She was born Wednesday, September 21, 1955 in Caraway, AR and lived in Cherokee Village for the past 15 years and was formerly of Trumann.  Joy was a writer and reader and published a few books and was of the Pentecostal faith.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Taylor, two sisters, Nancy Sue Facello and Patricia Richardson and her parents, Luther and Juanita Briley Taylor. She is survived by three sons, Kevin (Robin) Elrod of Marked Tree, Adam Elrod of Trumann, and Joseph (Savannah) Elrod of Trumann; two daughters, Jolynda Elrod of Trumann, and Sabrina Elrod of Mountain Home; three brothers, Ronnie Taylor, Donnie Taylor, Jed Taylor all of Trumann, three sisters, Paulette Sawyer of Ash Flat, Linda Cherry of Manila,  and Jeanette Grammer; 20 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.     The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
