Ludy Murl “Buddy” Penna, Jr.,  of Trumann departed this life Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Trumann at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 17 days. He was born Monday, February 14, 1949 in Booneville, MS to the late Ludy and Virginia Hare Penna.  Buddy  was an Army veteran and was a retired river boat captain and of the Baptist faith. After retirement he loved to golf every chance he could.   He was preceded in death by one brother, Chris Penna; one sister-in-law, Debbie Penna and his parents.       He is survived by his special friend, Betty Begley of the home; two brothers, William (Karen) Penna of Jackson, MS and James Penna of Lafayette, LA; he was considered a loving father to Betty’s many children,  grandchildren and great grandchildren.      The family will receive visitors at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann from 5-6 pm Monday, May 6, 2024.
