"I was able to visit Pearl and Dub in April 2024 to see the solar eclipse. I told them I was coming to visit and they insisted I stay with them. I always liked visiting with them. They were so interesting to talk to and this visit Dub finally took me to his barn and to see all his tractors. I was so glad I was able to spend time with Dub a few months before he died. I will miss him.

"My Uncle Dub was a kind and generous man who always had a good story to tell. We loved sitting in the backyard or around the kitchen table listening to him talk about farming, his dogs, or delivering the mail. Those afternoons spends with him laughing will be remembered with fondest memories. Our deepest sympathy to Aunt Pearl and the family.

"Dub was always special to me. He loved coming up here to Cherokee Village and fiddling with his boat, playing softball with the team, loved sharing his house on the lake with his kids and grandkids. He always had a good story to tell and a project he was working on. He's from an era of people who are so different from what's following behind us, and he'll be sorely missed. I'm glad I was a part of his life and he was a part of mine.
