Penny Sue (Curton) McGreal of Trumann departed this life Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Flo and Phil Hospice of Jonesboro at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 25 days. She was born Monday, September 12, 1960 in Jonesboro, AR to the late Marvin and Betty Jo Byrd Curton.  Penny spent her junior and senior year as a Trumann Wildcat Cheerleader and graduated in 1978.  She always enjoyed spending her days outside with family and friends.  She made lifelong friendships that continued up to her passing.  Penny was very outgoing, never met a stranger, and she adored animals.  She briefly lived in Louisiana, and later moved to Mobile, AL where she lived for several years working as a bookkeeper at Marine & Industrial Supply as well as Marine Rigging.  She moved back home to Trumann in 2007 where she continued to enjoy her time reconnecting with close friends and family. She was preceded in death by one son, Jordan Curton; one sister, Claudia Jo (Curton) Stroud; and her parents.       She is survived by her daughter, Julia McRee of Jonesboro; her brother Gary Curton of Jonesboro; her sister, Charlotte Roach of Trumann and her nieces and nephews.           The family will receive friends Saturday, August 17th from 1:00 to  2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.  A celebration of life will follow at 2:00 in the chapel with the Dr. John Maley officiating.  Burial will be private.
