Obituary
Timothy “Tim” Vernon Davis, 62, of Trumann departed this life on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will be cherished by all who knew him.
He was born on April 30, 1962 to Vernon & Rosemary Davis, the youngest of four siblings. Tim lived all of his life in Trumann, Arkansas. He began working at Wal-Mart while still in high school & worked there until 1996. He then began his career as a truck driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and his ability form lasting friendships with his colleagues.
He married the love of his life, Debbye Farmer, on September 2, 1983 and together they spent over 40 years building a life full of adventure. They had one daughter, Nicole.
Tim was a proud and loving father to Nicole. He taught her the values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of standing up for yourself and what you believe in. His favorite past time was leaving only one OREO in the package for her to find.
Tim adored his best friend, Duke, his golden retriever. As partners in crime, they both lived for late night walks down to the field.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in nature. He spent countless hours duck hunting and running trot lines on the St. Francis River, sharing his love for these pursuits with friends and family alike.
Later on, Tim could be found supporting his friends on the dirt track by holding down the cooler and watching NASCAR. His enthusiasm for the sport was contagious, and race days often became family events, filled with excitement and friendly competition.
Those who knew Tim will remember his playful spirit and his knack for good-natured teasing. He had a unique talent for lovingly aggravating his friends and family, always with a mischievous grin and his unmistakable laugh. His humor and wit were defining traits that endeared him to all who crossed his path.
Despite his lighthearted nature, Tim was a man of strong convictions. He believed firmly in standing up for what he thought was right and was never afraid to voice his opinions - especially when it came to those he loved. This strength of character, combined with his fierce loyalty, made him a powerful advocate for those he loved. Many friends and family members knew they could always count on him to have their back in times of need.
He is survived by his wife Debbye, daughter Nicole (Matt) London, and sister Roseann (Bobby) Hatcher, all of Trumann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon & Rosemary Davis, and one brother, Tommy Davis, and one sister, Shelia Coke.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20th from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel at with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery near Westside Community in Jonesboro, AR.
Pallbearers will be Lee Ballard, Gary Stanley, Ken Kinnard, Randy Richards, Scott Crites, Danny “Bub” Smith, Ricky Wright, Terry Ballard, and Wayne Mitchell.

"Deb my prayers are with you and Nicole and all of the family. I loved the obituary and it captures all that Tim was and I loved living near you for all those years. I will never forget I was coming down Whitlatch and I honked and he gave me the bird. I turned around and said Tim why did you do that to me and he laughed and said I didn't know that was you. Memories of how y'all walked your beautiful fur babies. I have cried for y'all and Tim will be forever missed. Y'all shared a love that only some people dream of. We love y'all Tammy and Trandon McNatt.

"Losing a dad is one of the hardest things ever, and it may be harder for a daughter than a son. A dad is a daughter’s first boyfriend, date and dance. I’m sorry for your loss, and you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

"Tim’s first job was working for Dub Smith at the Stop and Save on Speedway (now where there is a Jordan’s). He pumped gas for the store in the evenings and I was the store manager. Tim was still in Jr. High then. That’s how strong his work ethic was. He was a super guy. Our deepest condolences.
