Shirley Kay Long of Jonesboro, departed this life on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at St Bernard's Medical Center at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 15 days.  She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, cooking, watching Little House On The Prairie, the Waltons, and especially enjoyed watching videos of monkeys. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sitting at the kitchen table playing Yahtzee with her sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Long; her parents, Ellen Whitaker and Irvin Rusher;  1 sister, Gale Simpson, and 2 brothers La Vaugn Rusher and Rondal Rusher. Survivors include 1 sister Sharon Whitaker of Bay; 2 brothers, Freddie Rusher (Bonnie Rusher) of Jonesboro and Bobby Rusher (Glenda Rusher) of Hergett; son, Casey Long (Melisa Waggle) of Jonesboro; 4 daughters Crystal Shands (Nic Shands) of Jonesboro, Kayla Long, Kirsey Long, and Calli Rulo all of Jonesboro; 4 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
