Obituary
Melba Jo Coke of Marion departed this life on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Three Rivers Nursing Home in Marked Tree, AR at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 5 days. She was born March 23, 1949 in Jonesboro, AR and lived in Marion and was formerly of Lepanto. She was a retired kindergarten school teacher at Dyess, AR from 1973 to 2000 and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her infant sister, Nona Ann Coke and was the daughter of the late Hubert “H.C.” Jr. and Violet T. Huckabee Coke.
She is survived by one sister, Barbara Rhoads of Marion, one brother, Bobby Coke of Trumann, three nephews, Tony Coke, Chris Coke and Brian Rhoads and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with Jeremy Thorton and Ronnie Benson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Parsley Cemetery in Calamine, Ark.
Pallbearers will be Tony Coke, Chris Coke, Brian Rhoads and Cotton Rhoads.

"We think of the Coke Family often. We live close to the Parsley Cemetery and go there often. Roberta was there Wednesday before the service and we had not heard about Melba's passing.
