Robert Earl “Bill” Gibbs of Trumann departed this life Sunday, June 8, 2025  at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 24 days. He was born Sunday, September 15, 1946 in Waterloo, AL to the late Henry Irvin and Esetlee Lard Gibbs and lived in Trumann and Harrisburg area most of his lifetime.    He was retired from Crane Composite and FMC a veteran of US Army serving during the Viet Nam era, a Deacon and part of the Sunday morning breakfast crew at First Baptist Church and a 1966 Graduate of the Harrisburg Central High School and loved taking people wherever they needed to go.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Marcella Gibbs Higginbotham and one brother, Ray Gibbs.    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine Peeler Gibbs of the home; one sister, Louise Gibbs Green of Trumann; several nieces and nephews The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:30 to11:30 am at First Baptist Church.  A Celebration of life will follow at 11:30 with Dr. John Maley officiating.  Burial will follow at Arkansas Veterans National Cemetery at Birdeye. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Peeler, Darryl Sanders, Tate Peeler, Kim Osment, Miles Witt and Seth Osment.  Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church family and friends.      In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First Baptist Church, P.O.
