Obituary

Mrs. Velma Jean Floyd of Trumann, Ark., departed this life Friday, July 1, 2016 at the family residence at the age 60 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was born Thursday, July 14, 1955 in Marked Tree, Ark., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Floyd was preceded in death by her husband, James Floyd, Sr. in 2009; four sister, three brothers and was the daughter of the late William Vester and Dolley Ferguson Baney. She is survived by three daughters, Tammy Welsh, Rebecca Floyd and Jennifer Floyd all of Trumann; one son, James Floyd, Jr., of Trumann; four sisters, Francis Roberts and Melissa (Bobby) Davis both of Trumann, Mary Austin of Jonesboro and Mildred (Buddy) Woods of Michigan; three brothers, Charles Baney of Ash Flat, Ark., Alford Baney of Harrisburg and Alvin Baney of Cherokee Village, Ark.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Marked Tree Cemetery with Bro. Greg Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree, Ark. Pallbearers will be Kaleb Verser, Joseph Doyle, Buddy Brooks, Larry Floyd, Brandon Floyd and Ray Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Brooks and Harold Adams, Jr. Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
