Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Ray Stockton left this earth for his heavenly home December 1, 2015 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 15 days. He was born Tuesday, March 16, 1943 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to JK and Mable Stockton. Ken taught his children the value of hard work and respect for others at an early age. He also spent countless hours teaching them to fish, play ball and later on how to grow a garden. Ken served the Lord proudly as a member of First Baptist Church in Trumann, as well as the last three years as a Gideon. He had a heart full of compassion for others and never passed up a chance to give a helping hand, He greatly served his community as a member of the school board, city council and owner of Ken

"Ken was always a great friend and I have many memories of him as a co-worker but many more memories of seeing him enjoy his grand daughters playing basketball. He loved being around young people and athletics and always had a smile on his face and a word of encouragement! We have lost a wonderful person and great friend.

"My heartfelt sympathy goes out to this most wonderful family. Ken was not only a friend to our family, but a best friend to my Dad Norman Sr. They both enjoyed a good laugh together and pulling various pranks. Ken was definitely a model father and husband. He will be greatly missed, but heaven does have a gain.

"From day 1 God had Ken's life completely mapped out in our Trumann community. Ken provided food, thoughtful words, and acts of encouragement, kindness, and support. God used him in so many mission fields here: restaurant, insurance, landlord and many other areas. He gave me words of wisdom when I needed insurance advice, Bobby will miss him at yard sales where he was always looking for bargains for his tenants. He will be missed by us and all of our community. It was obvious the love that he had for our community and the love that he had for his family. Thanks for sharing him.

"To me this a highly favored man. He will always be remembered in my heart. I'm sorry I could not make it but I had prior work engagements. This will be a difficult time but know that he will live on in your memories and your heart. Everyone says that as time goes by it gets easier. I disagree with that, you just learn to live with it. It is never easier. Know that each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Lora Golden
