Obituary

Mr. Richard Charles Woodruff, 70 of Trumann, Ark., died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark. Mr. Woodruff was born in Fresno, Calif. and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired farmer, board member for the Trumann Rural Water and Drainage District #7 and was a deacon of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Louise Borum Woodruff. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Cook Woodruff of the home; two sons, Richard Woodruff Jr., and wife Somer of Trumann and Michael Woodruff and wife Susan of Flower Mound, Texas; his father, Charley Woodruff Jr. of Trumann; one sister, Donna and husband Danny Pippinger of Trumann; six grandchildren, Hunter, Wesley, Ben, Braden, Aubrey and Crawford Woodruff Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann, with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark., under the directions of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Pallbearers will be Michael Woodruff, Hunter Woodruff, Wesley Woodruff, Ben Woodruff, Braden Woodruff and Bobby Vest. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Moon, James Moon Jr., John Stuckey, David Sloan, Roy Whitehead, Dennis Penter, Donnie Taylor and deacons of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:30 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
