Obituary

Mr. Nevis Earl Sims, died Friday, May 1, 2015 at the family residence at the age of 63 years 8 months and 8 days. He was born August 23, 1951 in Jonesboro, Ark., and had lived his lifetime in Trumann. Nevis was a forklift driver with Firestone in Memphis, Tenn., a veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his parents, Perry and Mary Edith Sims of Trumann, two sisters, Tammy McDaniel and Cindy Taber both of Trumann; and four nephews, J.R. McDaniel, John McDaniel, Dylan Kelso and Gage Kelso. Graveside service will be Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Ark. with Bro. Bill Maxwell and Bro. Michael Willard officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church, 610 W. Speedway, Trumann, AR 72472. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
