Obituary

Mr. Leo Lancaster of Trumann, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 95 years, 9 months and 18 days. He was born Tuesday, May 6, 1919 in Senath, Missouri and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. Mr. Lancaster was a retired farmer and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by one son, Leo Lancaster, Jr., three sisters, Lois Whitman, Ruby Dodd, and Annie Lancaster; three brothers, Ted Lancaster, Paul Lancaster and Irvin Lancaster and his parents, Robert and Mary Bradford Lancaster. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Christine Hale Lancaster; four daughters, Joyce Lueallen of Black Rock, Ark., Edna Bellah of Lake City, Ark., Janice Wilson of Trumann, and Joan Evans of Trumann; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Larry Loggins and Rev. Frank Bufford officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Jeff Wilson, James Evans, Josh Wilson, Josh Evans, Cody Wilson, Billy Graham, Drew Norris and Devin Lamb. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
