Obituary

Mrs. Muriel Smith of Trumann died Monday, May 19, 2014 at River Chase Village in Gautier, Miss., at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 22 days. She was born Wednesday, June 27, 1923 in Trumann and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann before moving to Mississippi eleven years ago. She was a housewife and a member of Viva Drive Church of Christ. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Rex Clifford Smith; 2 sisters, 3 brothers and her parents W.T. and Ollie Watkins Fain. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Richard) Wylie of Millington, Tenn., Janice (Jimmy) Campbell of Memphis, Tenn., Rhonda Woodard of Jonesboro, Ark., two sons, Calvin (Joan) Rutherford of Trumann and Clayton (Mary Kim) Smith of Brandon, Miss.; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Clayton Smith, Mary Kim Smith and Nate Payne officiating. Music will be provided by Doug Eltzroth. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery at Jonesboro, Ark. Pallbearers will be Nick Smith, Tadd Pitts, Eric Wylie, Hunter Wylie, Tommy Taylor and Lee Ray Pickrell. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 Thompson Funeral Home.
