Obituary
Mrs. Marie Baker of Trumann died Thursday, September 19, 2013 at her home in Trumann at the age of 88 years 5 months and 4 days. She was born Wednesday, April 15, 1925 in Savannah, Tenn., to the late Elmer and Rose Smith Qualls. She lived most of her lifetime in Trumann, was retired form Trumann Public School and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband; James Floyd Baker, three sisters; Emma Lee Austin, Elsie Hopkins and Mary Lou Austin, four brothers; J.C. Qualls, Earl Qualls, W.E, Qualls and Veron Qualls and her parents. She is survived by one son; Billy (Lamesa) Baker of Trumann, three daughters; Glenda (Jerry) Pipkin of Harrisburg, Ark., Connie (Tommy) Holmes of Jonesboro, Ark., and Judy (Jimmy) Wright of Harrisburg, Ark., two sisters; Faye Jenkins and Wilma Reeves both of Trumann, one brother; Ottie Qualls of Trumann, 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Austin Missey and Rev. Albert (Bud) Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, AR. Pallbearers will be Freddie Jenkins, James Reeves, Randy Blansett, Doug Qualls, Andy Reeves and Larry Austin. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
