Mrs. Hazel Maxine Parks Powers of Trumann died Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Willowbend Nursing Center at Marion, Ark., at the age of 90 years, 9 Months and 28 days. Mrs. Powers was born Wednesday, September 6, 1922 in Harrisburg, Ark. to the late Claude and Myrtle Burrough Parks. She had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann and was a housewife and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Tulot, Ark.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Orville Powers; one son, Randy Powers; two sister; two brothers and her parents. She is survived by one daughter, Pam Curry and husband Doug of Marion, Ark.; one son, Rickey Powers and wife Mary of Big Sandy, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Lee Powers, Leila Rasasane, Ryan Dowdy and Heather Dowdy; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Bobby Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery near Harrisburg, Ark. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.
