Mrs. Lorene Blackwell Vuncannon of Trumann died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the family residence at the age of 75 years 8 months and 17 days. She was born Tuesday, July 21, 1936 in Walnut Ridge, AR., to the late Raymond and Marie Chestine Blackwell. She lived in Trumann for the past 53 years and was formerly of Dyess, Ark. Mrs. Vuncannon was a housewife, a fan of Cedar Park Elementary School always helping her daughter Reba in her classroom and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edwin Vuncannon and her parents, Raymond and Marie Chestiine Blackwell. She is survived by one daughter, Reba Vuncannon of the home, one son, Ricky Vuncannon of the home, one special grandson, Kevin Rieathbaum of the home; two sisters, Irene Pilgrim of Marion and Earlene Suthern of Dyess; two brothers, John Blackwell of Adamsville, Tenn., and Murrell Blackwell of Trumann;. Funeral Services will be Monday evening April 9th at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Don Vuncannon officiating. There will be a private graveside Tuesday at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.. Pallbearers will be Charles Creecy, Danny McClelland, Roy Warden, Michael Spray, Bill Wilson, Ricky Mitchell, and Lynn Morrison. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
