Obituary
TRUMANN - Dena Hamric Stout, 90, of Trumann died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the family residence. Mrs. Stout was born May 4, 1919 at Hamilton, Ala. She was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Mary Jane Hamric and was raised and attended school in the Vandale area. She had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was united in marriage to Jessie L. Stout on March 28, 1934 at Wynne, Ark. They moved to Trumann and began farming in Poinsett County. At an early age, she learned the meaning of hard work and a loving commitment to family. She and J.L. raised his brothers and one sister. Bernard Stout (Deceased) Marion Stout of Mountain Home and Ruth Stout Tate of Harrison as their own. Dena was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann and taught Sunday School for 43 years. She sang in the choir and was honored in Church for years of dedication and service. Upon retirement, her favorite pastime was needlework, of which she made many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed the outdoors and working in her garden and flowers. Dena was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Stout in 1996, one son and one daughter, one grand-daughter, one great-grandson, one great-great-grandson, five brtothers and four sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Mary and husband Bill Teague of Trumann, Judith N. and husband Larry Gibson of McAlester, OK and Cathy Stout of Trumann; one son, Jerry and wife Carol Stout of Trumann; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Trumann with Dr. Tad Rogers and Marion Stout officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro with Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann in charge of arrangements. Active pallbeareres will be Jeff Stout, Preston Lamb, Jerry Bradway, Daniel Bradway, Roy Goodwin and David Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Ball, Bill Cook, Dennis Penter, Stanley Martin, Jules Martin and Blan Stout. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 at the First Baptist Church, 1301 Hwy 69 in Trumann. Lasting memorials my be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O.
