"I remember, as a child, I thought James had to be the biggest, most feared man on earth. I’d literally sneak or run past his chair, or in some cases just choose to not go through there depending on how desperate the need.....as some of you will recall, the bathroom was the first door down the hall just beyond his chair. However, as I grew older, I came to know him as not only a stern man but a respectful man, a friend who enjoyed a laugh throughly. I can still hear him laughing that infectious laugh and see him rubbing his arm. I’m thankful that I got the opportunity to spend a little time with him recently, just talking about old times, about the loves and losses of our lives. The hopes for our children and our shared love of Christ. Rest peacefully my friend and say hello to that sweet girl that you “ never got over”
