Illa Dean M. PipesSeptember 3, 1921 - September 5, 2008 Mrs. Illa Dean M. Pipes of Trumann, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at Skillcare Nursing Center in Jonesboro at the age of 87 years and 2 days. She was born Saturday, September 3, 1921 in Athens, Alabama the daughter of the late James Macon Sr., and Lula Brooks McCarty. Mrs. Pipes had live most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Lee Pipes; one granddaughter, Donna A. Pipes; three sisters; two brothers, and her parents. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda L. Parsley and Brenda Creecy Pipes both of Trumann; one son, Donnie Pipes of Trumann; one brother, James Macon McCarty, Jr. of Trumann; five grandchildren, Paula Harper, Sandy Battles, Cathy McKinney, Clint Creecy and Judy Simpson; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday morning September 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be Harold Menteer, Bill Smith, Danny Bub" Smith, Jay Harper and Chris Bryam. Visitation will be Sunday evening September 7, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
