Joseph Doyle Sims

Mr. Joseph Doyle Sims was born on Thursday, March 5, 1942, the son of the late Joseph Cagle and Verna Caldonia Pruett Sims. Mr. Sims died Friday, November 23, 2007 at the River Oaks Hospital in Flowood, Miss., at the age of 65 years 8 months and 18 days. Born in Tuckerman, Ark., grew up in Trumann and was a long time resident of the Jackson, Miss. area. He was a certified prosthetist and owned his own business for 30 years. He loved his work and enjoyed it. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Church and Zelda Dycus; by two brothers, Loyce Adams Sims and Lonnie Darrell Sims and his parents. Survivors include one son, Marcus Cagle Sims of Jackson, Miss., two daughters, Belinda McKenzie and Tonya Sims all of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with the Oliver Hinds officiating. Burial will be private.
