Marie Davis

Mrs. Marie Davis was born on Friday, April 6, 1917, the daughter of the late Lewis and Lena Cannon Mathews. Mrs. Davis died Thursday, January 12, 2006, at Craighead Nursing Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 88. She was born in Jonesboro and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Thomas Davis, Sr., one daughter, Charlene Felice, three sisters, Annie Soward, Mildred Oneal and Celestine Johnson and her parents. Survivors include a son, Tommy Davis Jr., six grandchildren, Linda Schultz, Steven Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, Charlotte Wagner, Kellie Hutchison and Mark Davis; 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.. Funeral services will be Sunday, afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann., with Rev. James Strait officiating. Burial will be private at Holly Springs Cemetery.
