Charles Earl GobbellOctober 13, 1934 - May 19, 2019 Mr. Charles Earl “Charlie” Gobbell of Trumann, departed this life on Sunday, May 19 at Arlington Cove Nursing Center in Trumann, AR at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 6 days. He was born Saturday, October 13, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN and lived in Trumann since 1985 and was formerly of Columbus, GA. He was a veteran of US Army, retired self employed carpenter and property owner and a member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ. Charles was a Bible student and enjoyed reading the Bible. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed their company. He was preceded in death by one brother, his parents, William Riley and Laura B. Poag Gobbell, and one step-grandchild. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jan Gobbell of the home; two sons, Daniel Gobbell and Duane Gobbell; two brothers, Roy Gobbell and William Gobbell; one grandchild; and three step-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 Washington Ave, Jonesboro, AR. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Roller Farmers Union Funeral Home with Bill Willard and Kenneth Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland, AR under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Honeycutt, Bob Brice, Gene Goza, Quention Fletcher, Stacy Miser, and Brad Partee. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Washington Avenue Church of Christ.
