Gary Dale Matney, Sr.

September 29, 1955 - August 8, 2019

Mr. Gary Dale Matney, Sr., of Trumann departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 10 days.  He was born, Thursday, September 29, 1955 in and a lifetime resident of Trumann, a tile setter and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Trumann. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Douglas, Tommy, Donnie, Ronnie and Johnny Matney, one sister, Barbara Brown, one grandson, Duke Riley Guy, his step-father, Luther Baker and his parents, Melbourne Matney and Loretta Maxine Baker.       He is survived by his wife, Diana English Matney of the home; two daughters, Sherylon Rouse and Katie Holman both of Trumann; three sons, Gary D. Matney, Jr. of Rockport, TX, Larry S. Matney and Terry D. Matney both of Trumann, one brother, Mike Matney of Florida; two sisters Doris Holloway of Washington and Sandra Baker of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.       The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A celebration of his life will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Br. Eddie Lapiro officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR.       The family will serve as pallbearers.      An online guest book can be signed at www. thompsonfuneralhome.net
