Jerry McKinneyFebruary 23, 1936 - December 1, 2019 Mr. Jerry Max McKinney of Trumann departed this life on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 8 days. Jerry was born Sunday, February 23, 1936 in Greene County and lived in Trumann for the last 55 years and was formerly of Paragould and Jonesboro. He owned and operated Trumann Drug for 55 years. Jerry was a member of the Arkansas Pharmacist Association; Member of Trumann Chamber of Commerce; President of University of Tennessee Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society 1960-61; Trumann Senior Softball 1999-2012; Class President 1954 Stanford High School; Scholarship at Freed-Hardeman College 1957-58 for Basketball and played baseball; and was an Elder of the Viva Drive Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by three step-brothers, Darrell Higgins, Jerald Higgins and Max Higgins, one step-sister Charlene Jones; his step-mother, Inez Greenway McKinney, and his parents, George Daniel and Imogene Higgins McKinney. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, JoAnn Hodges McKinney of the home; two daughters, Kelly (Robert) Harrell of Cabot, AR and Julia (Jerry) Goff of Trumann; one son, Christopher McKinney of Trumann; one step-sister, Hattie Higgins (Joe) Emery of Paragould, AR; one step-brother, Hoyt (Lesta) Higgins of Taylorsville, KY; and six grandchildren, Kelsey (David) Sutton of Little Rock, AR, Reed Harrell of Searcy, AR, Trey Goff of Trumann, AR, Ainslee McKinney of Memphis, TN, Jacie Goff of Trumann, AR, and Jaxson Goff of Trumann, AR. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Viva Drive Church of Christ in Trumann. A Celebration of Life will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Bill Willard, Joe Spangler and Gary Hill officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. in Pine Knott Cemetery near Paragould, AR under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Pallbearers will be Robert Harrell, Reed Harrell, David Sutton, Jerry Goff, Trey Goff and Jaxson Goff. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Mitchell, Mike Conatser, Dwight England, Leroy May, Harry Vredingburgh, Woeford Conatser, Kelvin Conatser, Bill Willard, Joe Spangler and Gary Hill.
