Loreda Fortson

June 15, 1928 - December 9, 2019

Mrs. Loreda Fortson departed this life Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 91 years,5 months and 24 days.  She was born Friday, June 15, 1928 in Harrisburg and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was retired from Singer Company and Salant and Salant and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fortson; one daughter, Sharon Britton; four sister, Elosies Ford, Geraldine York, Linda Martin and Irene Foust; one son-in-law, Arthur Tacker and her parents, Luther and Thea Odell Bronzil Ford. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Junyor of Caraway, AR, Paulette Tacker of Harrisburg, and Tammy (Michael) Whitaker of Dover, AR; one son, Kelly (Charlene) Britton of Lake City, AR; two sisters, Maxine Long of Harrisburg, AR and Lillian Williford of Illinois; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.         Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Finley officiating.  Burial will follow at Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg, AR. Pallbearers will be Michael Whitaker, Jeff Carlton, Dakota Woods, Stacy Britton, Alvin “Jr.” Gross and Tommy Eakins.  Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.       An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
