Eugene RichardsonNovember 22, 1926 - December 17, 2020 Charles Eugene Richardson, Sr. was born Monday, November 22, 1926 in Trumann, AR. On December 17, 2020 at the age of 94 years and 25 days he entered the gates of Heaven to be with his Lord. Eugene is survived by his wife, Rosemary Richardson of Trumann; two sons, Richie (Mary Jane) Richardson of Trumann and Ronnie (Rhonda) Richardson of Cabot; seven grandchildren Jill (Brent) Lewellen of Rossville, TN, Ryan (Penny) Richardson of Haskell, Nick (Alison) Richardson of Little Rock, Kristie (Stephen) Daniel of Las Vegas, NV, Chris (Jana) Cason of Cabot, Kim (Ronnie) Simmons of Vilonia and Kamille Best of Rogers; one step-son Beau Ballard of Trumann; two step-granddaughters Alexandria Ballard and Anna Claire Ballard of Trumann, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandsons. Eugene was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia Richardson, granddaughter Audra Allen, brother Clifford Richardson, his sister Mavis Richardson and his parents Hubert Lynn and Chlora Marie Glass Richardson. Eugene was a member of the Promised Land General Baptist Church and First General Baptist Church of Trumann for many years. He became a deacon at 22 years of age, the youngest ordained deacon at that time. Eugene taught Sunday School, served as Sunday School Director and Music Director at both General Baptist Churches in Trumann for decades. He served as President of the Arkansas Assembly of General Baptist Home Missionary Board. He worked at the local Community Center serving meals to the homeless for numerous years. He led many people to Christ during his lifetime. He was an outstanding Christian example to his family, friends and the community. Eugene was a lifelong farmer and Outstanding Young Farmer of the Year in 1959. He was an avid golfer with two holes-in-one during his lifetime. He loved to travel, was a member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge, and served on the Trumann School District School Board for 10 years. Eugene was a loving, caring, giving and considerate Christian man. He would gladly help anyone, including strangers and he touched the lives of many. He was an amazing man who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be Tuesday, December 22nd at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to First General Baptist Church, 15765 Promised Land Ln, Trumann, AR 72472.
