Barbara Schwandt

September 27, 1942 - November 5, 2021

Mrs. Barbara L. Schwandt. of Trumann departed this life on Friday, November 5, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 9 days.  She was born on Sunday, September 27, 1942 in Lunsford, AR and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann.  She was a homemaker in her early years raising her children.   In her later years, she worked at Parker, worked in the school cafeteria and also was a health aid.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy R. Schwandt,  parents, Roy and Essie Kirby Kain, four sisters, Myrtle Ann Kain, Mary Williams, Rosalee Raney and Joyce Hamby; one brother, Clarence Kain; one grandson, Jacob Lee Snyder.        She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Ralph) Simpson,  Bobbie (Robert) Bellah both of Trumann and Connie (Mark) Conrad of Hardy; two sons, James (Sheila) Rieathbaum of Conway and Daniel (Cynthia) Rieathbaum of Trumann;  three sisters, Junnie Shoopman of Trumann, Linda Banks of Jonesboro and Sarah ”Kookie” Collins of Harrisburg; five brothers, Richard and Donald Kain of Trumann, Ralph Kain of Harrisburg, Paul Kain of Bay and Charles Kain of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members       Visitation will be Monday evening  from 5  -  7 pm  at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.       Celebration of Life will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Ricky Forbis officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.        Active Pallbearers will be Dustin Sims, Lucas Snyder, Cory Rieathbaum, Derrik Adams, Robert Holt and Jason Kain.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Rieathbaum, L.V. “Pitt” Williams, and Joseph Kain.       In compliance with Covid-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is optional.           An online register book can be signed at www. thompsonfuneralhome.net
