Robert "Buddy" WatsonOctober 20, 1928 - January 13, 2022 Robert “Buddy” Watson, Jr., 93, of Trumann departed this life on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Place in Jonesboro, AR. He was born in Cherokee, Alabama and had live most of his lifetime in the Trumann area. He was a retired instructor for the Delta Vocational School in Marked Tree, AR, Navy veteran of the Korean War and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Syble Lee Combs Watson; two brothers, Thomas & Billy Watson; and one sister, Lou Hedley and was the son of the late Robert Neal and Mary Lou George Watson. He is survived by one son, Lee Clinton (Sandra) Watson of Trumann; one daughter, Lanita (Buz) Allen of Mammoth Spring, AR; two sisters: Linda Parker of Henderson, TN., and Joan Bray of Lake Alfred, FL; three grandchildren, Jonathan Watson, Amy Ward and Tera Lehman; three great-grandchildren, Charleigh Watson, Jaden Lehman and Ty Lehman. A celebration of life will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Constant officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark., Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Pallbearers will be Bobby Benson, Bobby Byrd, Kenneth Hendrix, Jeff Lafarlette, Wes Cranford and Roger Moon. Honorary pallbearers will be Zach Pankey, Ron Taylor, Ken Hendrix, Tim Lawson, Jack Haney and Dennis Moon.
