Elawease Duvall

Zelma Elawease Duvall, 81, of Trumann passed from this life on Saturday, February 26, 2022 with family surrounding her at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.  Elawease was born on September 28, 1940 in the Weona community near Trumann to the late Clarence James and Mildred Allred Savage and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann.  She worked at Salant and Salant, as a custodian at Trumann School District, and was a homemaker helping raise her grandchildren. She was of Christian faith and attended First Assembly of God in Trumann when health permitted. A few things she enjoyed were shopping at Walmart, garage sales, jewelry, eating catfish and fried chicken, old country music, but most of all she loved spending time with family.   She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Earl Duvall, sisters Pauline Shepherd, Jean Wagner, Loraine Jones, Vernell Adams, Edna Mae Staten, and Janie Sue Savage; brothers Billy Savage, Herman Savage, Sunny Savage and Therman Savage, daughter Brenda Smith, grandson Gregory Smith, and her parents. She is survived by one son, Kenneth Gerald Duvall of Trumann AR; son in law Jackie (Jamie) Smith of Jonesboro, AR; two granddaughters Christie Wilson and Jill (Dylan) Beliew of Jonesboro, AR; five great grandchildren Gracelyn Smith, Samuel Asher Smith, and Trinity Smith of Trumann, AR; and Rhett Wilson and Marshall Beliew of Jonesboro AR. The family will receive family and friends Monday, February 28th from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, AR. A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Brother Kenneth Doke officiating. Burial will follow at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza Arkansas. Active pallbearers are Billy Savage, Eugene Adams, Britt Savage, Jim Davis, Richard Harness, and Rick Harris.  Honorary pallbearers are Dan Montgomery, Bobby Montgomery, David Adams, and Franklin Lair. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, face masks or other facial covering is optional and social distancing will be recommended.
