Martha Ester L. Green

August 30, 1942 - May 14, 2022

Martha Ester Lee Green, 79, of Trumann passed from this life on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. Martha was born on August 30, 1942 and lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She enjoyed playing her Martin guitar and singing with her musical friends and her husband, Curtis Green, until his death. Martha greatly enjoyed keeping her yard and flowers in pristine condition and spent most summers watering and trimming them. She attended many of the local over-50s dances and was an excellent dancer. Until the pandemic occurred and her health gradually declined, she enjoyed attending many of the local festivals, flea markets and other events with her dear friend and companion of 10 years, Jim Beetem. During these outings, Martha was always looking for another item for her extensive Coca-Cola collection, or a new decoration for that beautiful yard. We would like to thank the friends and neighbors of Twin Hickory Lane for helping her, for checking on her and for providing her favorites: catfish and company. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Martha is preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Tucker; her second husband, Curtis Dee Green; one sister, Agnes Ward; one brother, Doyal Walker; and her parents, Robert Dave Walker and Ester Leona Walker-Browder. Martha is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Eddie) Crain of Jonesboro; one son, Bryan (Trish) Tucker of Mountain Home; one step-daughter, Sherry (Rick) Bane of Trumann; one step-son, Dewayne (Brandy) Green of Trumann; two sisters, Phyllis Sutton of Harrisburg and Shelby Smith of Trumann; two brothers, Grady Walker of Jonesboro and Bill Russell of Trumann; three grandchildren, Hollie Tucker of Jonesboro, Morgan Crain of Little Rock, and Tucker Crain of Birmingham, Ala.; four step-grandsons, Ryan Bane, Ethan Green, Paxton Green, and Preston Green; one great-grandson, Levi Latting and three step-great-grandchildren, Conner Bane, Bonham Bane and Preslee Bane. The family will receive family and friends Tuesday, May 17, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Thompson Funeral Home chapel with Dan West officiating. Private burial will be Wednesday at Potters Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto.
