Douglas Kirk McMahanMarch 20, 1943 - December 18, 2022 Douglas Kirk McMahan Sr., of Jonesboro departed this life on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Southfork River Therapy and Living in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 28 days. He was born in Trumann and lived most of his lifetime in the Trumann and Jonesboro area. He was a basketball coach and biology teacher for Trumann Public Schools and a businessman. He was a 1964 graduate of Arkansas State University and a member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by one brother Sherman McMahan and was the son of the late Van and Sylvia Dexter McMahan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sandra Jean Chaffin McMahan; two daughters, Kristi Miller of Jonesboro, and Melissa (Mitch) Wright of Cherokee Village, AR; one son, Douglas Kirk (Anita) McMahan Jr. of Nesbit, MS; seven grandchildren, Christopher Sparks, Jake Coburn, Emily and Allyson Yawn, Summer Martin, Drew and Desten Morgan; and four great-grandchildren, Noah Sparks, Macy and Lyla Martin, and Everest Morgan. Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 pm with Rev. Jay Jacobs officiating.
