Harold Ray WilliamsFebruary 9, 1939 - April 28, 2023 Mr. Harold Ray Williams of Trumann departed this life Friday, April 28th, at the family residence at the age of 84 years, 2 months, and 19 days. He was an American writer and grew up near Crowley’s Ridge, which features in his novels and in much of his short fiction and essays. He began writing novels in 2007, and was active in national conferences and seminars. He was born February 9, 1939 to the late Ray Fletcher Williams and Effie Leona Walker Williams. He was a retired retailer, Veteran of the US Army, member of First Baptist Church and member of the Lion’s Club were he served as president in 2010 - 2011. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Boyce and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nora Lee Williams; three daughters, Melinda (Doug) Rito of Lemont, IL, Lee Williams of Tarzana, CA, Theresa (Nick) Manzella of Clarksville, TN; one son, Homer Scott (Sharon) Williams of Hillister, TX; two sisters, Betty Grubbs of Nixa, MO, Patricia Miller of Jonesboro, AR; two brothers, Bill Williams of Walnut Ridge, AR, Donald Williams of Jonesboro, AR; six grandchildren, Jeffery Scott Williams, Anja Navarre, Laura Gasior, Emma Lindstrom, Sara Fullerton, Ethan Seesholtz; and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, May 2nd, from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 P.M. with the Rev. John Maley officiating.
