Ricky Dale Porterfield

Ricky Dale “Petey” Porterfield of Lunsford departed this life on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 69 years, 1 months and 10 days.  He was born Tuesday, May 18, 1954 in Trumann to the late Floyd Neal and Nita Jo Cox Porterfield and lived his lifetime in the Trumann area.  Petey loved fishing, duck hunting and his black lab Ruger and was a member of Lunsford Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by one son, Isreal DeShane Porterfield and his parents.      He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Charlotte Porterfield of the home; two brothers, Larry Neal (Donna) Porterfield of Rudyard, MI and Tony (Sharon) Porterfield of Olive Branch, MS; two sisters, Diane Carr of Jonesboro and Loretta Jane (Phil) Harris of Moulton, AL; and one granddaughter, Anna Lynn Porterfield.      The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5:00 to 6:00 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A celebration of life will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Ron Langston and Rev. Jim Duffel officiating.  Burial will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Prairie Cemetery in Lunsford.       Pallbearers will be Lynn B. Ball, Larry Smith, Matt Emerson, Rex Holliday, Larry Don Lamberth and Terry Short.  Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Davis and Lunsford Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.
