Cheryl Smith

October 23, 1955 - May 12, 2025

Mrs. Cheryl M Smith of Bono departed this life on Monday, May 12, 2025 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 19 days.  Cheryl was born Sunday, October 23, 1955 in Trumann and lived most of her lifetime in the Trumann and Bono area. She was a retired school teacher from East Poinsett County School District and of the Church of Christ faith. Cheryl loved to read and be around her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John Gilbert and Audrey Roberts McCord; and four sisters, Melba Johnston, Cora Loveless, Joyce Barnett and Annette Owens.      She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Billy Smith of the home; one son, Brad Smith of Bono; two granddaughters, Alexa Smith of Brookland and Savannah Smith of Bono.      Graveside service will be Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Joe Spangler officiating.  Burial will follow under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.       An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
