John Preston Bales

June 26, 1964 - July 25, 2025

John Preston Bales of Memphis, TN departed this life Friday, July 25th at the family residence at the age of 61 years, and 29 days.  He was born Friday, June 26, 1964 in Trumann.  After graduating high school John attended and graduated from Harding University.  After graduating John moved to Texas where he worked for Roadway Trucking in the accounting department for 15 years and then transferred to Memphis with Roadway until the company closed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha McCorkle Bales, one sister, Susie Yeakey; and one niece, Cassie Cubit.       John is survived by his father, Rhew “Buster” Bales; one niece, Sonya Cubit; and two great-nephews, Gage Cubit and Gavin Cubit.       The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 10:00 in the chapel with Joe Spangler officiating.  Burial will be private at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.       An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
